The Unit Type feature in Acculyt AI allows organizations to create and manage measurement units used for inventory, purchasing, sales, and other supported transactions. Maintaining standardized units helps ensure quantities are recorded consistently and improves the accuracy of inventory and transaction records.
How It Works
Unit Types define how the quantity of an item is measured within Acculyt AI. Once a unit type is created, it can be used when configuring items and recording transactions where quantity measurement is required.
For example, businesses can use units such as Piece, Box, Carton, Kilogram, Liter, or Meter, depending on their operational requirements.
Whether your business deals with products, raw materials, or services measured in different ways, the Unit Type feature provides a centralized way to manage the units used throughout the system.
Managing Unit Types
To add a new unit type, click + Add Unit Type, enter the required unit information, and click Save/Add. Once created, the unit type becomes available for use in supported item and inventory transactions.
You can update an existing unit type using the Edit option. If the system provides a Status option, active units can be used in new transactions, while inactive units remain available for historical records but cannot be selected for future transactions.
Use clear and consistent unit names to avoid confusion during transactions. Select the appropriate unit when setting up items and recording quantities. Avoid creating duplicate units for the same measurement. Keep unit information standardized across your organization.
